Sheridan is a city and county seat of Grant County, Arkansas. The community is located deep in the forests of the Arkansas Timberlands. Sheridan was named after Lieutenant General Phillip Sheridan, who served as the 8th Commanding General of the United States Army from 1883 to 1888.[3]
